3rd Line Linux Engineer

Basic salary up to £40,000 plus overtime, bonus and flexible benefits scheme
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Linux Engineers and Administrators to join a renowned software house as Linux Hosting Engineer, based in Aylesbury.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving software company that supplies a large number of FTSE 100 organisations with digital solutions that help them engage with and understand their customers better, growing revenues and loyalty at the same time.
Working with cutting edge technology, you will join the hosting team to take on 3rd line operational support of the many client facing systems, you will be responsible for operational elements necessary to deliver reliable services and you will carry out project work including creating new builds to improve and enhance the current infrastructure.
This is a challenging and varied position in a close-knit Linux support team. This role offers multiple opportunities to develop both your technical ability and your career.
Experience/Qualifications.
-Extensive experience administering Linux environments (Debian or Ubuntu desirable).
-Exposure to web technologies, primarily IIS and Apache.
-Experience of multi-tiered environments and database driven applications
-Understanding of load-balancing technologies and resilient systems.
-Understanding of Java or PHP or Perl technologies and good experience with Mysql
-Understanding of principles necessary to provide and maintain secure systems
-VMware virtualisation administration.
-Proven ability to manage small projects both as an individual and coordinating others.
-Troubleshooting and fault location resolution experience.
-Broad experience of office infrastructure support – network hardware, network software, telephony, firewalls and internet.
